The Rival series features Hala's Fusion Dropstitch Construction with welded seams, a manufacturing technology which uses less material, resulting in a durable, rigid board which weighs less, is more economical, yet can still be easily rolled up for portability.

The Rival Playa is designed with Hala's Glide rocker, optimizing speed, glide and traction via a mellow nose rocker, flat center and minimal tail rise. With a slimmer 32-inch width and all-around touring-focused shape, the Rival Playa is evenly balanced for those wanting it all - maneuverability, tracking, speed and stability.

A 1.5 inch raised stomp pad allows precise control and maneuverability. Other features include a unique "foot index" located just before the rear stomp pad; this small, raised rectangle allows the rider to easily locate their position without taking their eyes off the water.

The Hala Rival Playa has numerous features designed towards excursions. A front bungee deck lacing system and rigging points can be used to stow gear, creating a versatile touring model. Couple each of these design features and you have a board that is zippy, stable and tracks well on open water, allowing you to island-hop or cruise along the bays.

All boards in the Rival series feature the "Go Straight to the Water" package, replete with a carbon adjustable breakdown paddle, high pressure pump with gauge and Rival backpack.

The Hala Rival wheeled backpack is constructed from a lighter-weight woven nylon with wide-opening zipper, carrying handles and five compression straps. Hidden back straps can quickly be accessed from the stow-away cover.
