A smaller version of the popular Rival Hoss, the Rival Straight Up is part of Hala's All-Round Series, a performance board for smaller riders, blending the best of many worlds - coastline touring, downriver paddles, whitewater or camping excursions.

The All-Around series features Hala's Fusion Dropstitch Construction with welded seams, a manufacturing technology which uses less material, resulting in a durable, rigid board which weighs less, is more economical, yet can still be easily rolled up for portability.

The Rival Straight Up is designed with Hala's Progressive rocker, which straddles the line between the sportiness of Hala's full rocker, and the speed of the glide rocker. The progressive design is perfect for all-around boards - featuring playfulness yet directional control. With a slimmer 33-inch width and all-around shape, the Hala Rival Straight Up is perfect for smaller riders - as well as those wanting maneuverability and a faster ride - while still offering stability.

A 1.5 inch raised stomp pad allows precise control and maneuverability. Other features include a unique "foot index" located just before the rear stomp pad; this small, raised rectangle allows the rider to easily locate their position without taking their eyes off the water.

Heading out for an afternoon of fun? The Hala Rival Straight Up's front bungee deck lacing system and centralized rigging points can be used to stow gear, or to add an optional kayak seat for sit-on-top paddling.

All boards in the Rival series feature the "Go Straight to the Water" package, replete with a Rival aluminum adjustable breakdown paddle, high pressure pump with gauge and Rival backpack.

Put all this together and you have a nimble board perfect for smaller payloads whether gliding the lake, catching a wave, or headed downriver - it's a "one-does-it-all" board.

The Hala Rival wheeled backpack is constructed from a lighter-weight woven nylon with wide-opening zipper, carrying handles and five compression straps. Hidden back straps can quickly be accessed from the stow-away cover.
