Kokopelli's new XPD packraft is designed for versatile, flatwater use - perfect for entry-level paddlers, adventure-travel, compact-car camping and weekend-warriors.
The XPD features the same "open bucket" shape and design as the Rogue-lite, but the durability and beefiness of the Recon. With 1000 denier (.9mm), reinforced PVC sidewalls and a 1000 denier, reinforced PVC floor, the XPD is ultra-durable. The seams are welded with double-reinforced 1 in (2.5 cm) wide seam tape while the pontoon-to-floor attachment point is glued to the sidewall and then reinforced with v-seam tape around the entire interior of the packraft. There are four strategically placed 1-in (25mm) stainless-steel D-rings on the front and 2 on the rear of the packraft to allow secure storage of gear or fatbike - these also integrate with the Animas River Bag.For the main pontoon, the XPD features a D7 Leafield valve, a simple, durable valve which is threaded and screwed together ensuring long-lasting performance. The valve also easily integrates with the TRiB airCap, Feather Pump, or Nano Barrel Pump. The 4 in (10.2 cm) thick inflatable seat is made from 210 denier diamond-ripstop nylon and uses a stem valve. This keeps you comfortable and improves paddling position which allows for deeper, more efficient paddle strokes. With a moderate trim, slight bow rocker, flat-bottom hull design, extra-large 12-inch pontoons and a large-volume stern, the XPD is designed for stability. New this year, a removable 9-inch tracking fin is included. As an open packraft, the XPD is perfect for paddlers wanting to minimize weight, prefer simple setups and ease of entry.
